Thailand Part 4 - Khao Lak!
I’m so excited to write about one of Thailand's most peaceful beach destinations, Khao Lak! Compared to the more popular beach destinations, we preferred a relaxing beach town with a lot of restaurant options and a chill, slow scene — Khao Lak was exactly that. We had no agenda & we loved it. It was exactly what we needed to unwind from our 2 weeks on the go while exploring Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
It’s 1 hour from Phuket airport by taxi. We stayed at The Waters Khao Lak. It was walking distance from the main strip with restaurants, shops, bars, and beach clubs.
We rented a scooter for a few dollars a day. It was the perfect way to get around and go beach hopping for a low price.
One of my favorite beaches in Khao Lak was White Sand Beach. It’s a romantic tropical paradise, unspoiled and not crowded, we almost felt like we discovered it ourselves!
The crystal clear water is so warm, its perfect for swimming or just to lay by the beach and take a nap. We spent the entire day sipping on coconut rum, relaxing, and soaking in the sun. The drinks from the restaurant were fairly priced and delicious.
We are suckers for a good dining experience, especially with a view. Khao Lak has so many delicious restaurant options on the beach & in the town that I would definitely consider it a foodie’s paradise. You can satisfy any craving here, such as Indian, German, Italian, traditional Thai, and many more international cuisines.
Theres nothing like enjoying your meal with the sea breeze and view of the sunset. We ate and drank at so many different places that I lost track of all the restaurant names, but take my word for it, you can’t go wrong with any restaurant you choose here.
We’re so happy we ended our trip here. Although all we did was eat, drink and relax by the beach, there is so much more to see and do in Khao Lak. If you’re looking for a laid back destination that is on the beach with crystal clear water then Khao Lak is the perfect destination. Although if you’re looking for livelier vibe with beach parties then I would recommend one of the more popular destinations like Phuket.
We can’t wait to return to Khao Lak. we feel like we discovered a little hidden gem in Thailand that is not overly crowded for high season!
We hope you enjoyed a recap of your Thailand adventure in December. Feel free to contact me if you have anymore questions. Until next time ……. xoxo SS
