Thailand Part 3 - Khao Sok National Park
No trip to Thailand would be complete without seeing the mountains, rainforests and jungles. While Chiang Mai is a popular destination for this type of experience, Khao Sok is often overlooked. It’s home to one of Thailand’s most beautiful national parks. Khao Sok National Park has everything you’re looking for including the crystal clear water in Cheow Lan Lake.
We booked our private tour with Khaolak Guru a few weeks before our trip. I highly recommend using them for any tours you wish to take while in the area. We booked a private tour and we’re so happy we did because we had the lake all to ourselves! It was one of the only places we visited in Thailand where you can have breathtaking views and not have to share it with anyone.
We sailed around the lake for about an hour viewing the beautiful limestones mountains. They are magical and make for a stunning photo opportunity while sitting on the edge of your long tailboat. We then ventured to one of the many floating bungalow hotels in Cheow Lan Lake for lunch, swimming and kayaking!
Tourists are able to book a few nights here so they can explore the entire National Park. There are a few different types of floating bungalow hotels in Khao Sok National Park ranging from different prices. Click here for more information.
The food and drinks were included with our tour and they were delicious! We also were able to feed the beautiful fish before kayaking, relaxing then heading back.
I can honestly say this experience surpasses all the other boat tours I have taken in other countries. There’s really no way for me to describe it with words, you’ll just need to go see it for yourself. I regret not spending more time taking photos, but hopefully I have sold you on this different experience in Thailand. Leave the popular destinations like Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi Islands to the crowds and come to Khao Sok National Park!
